This agreement governs driving or making deliveries with Oscab Ride — covering rides (Go, Comfort, XL, Okada, Pragia) and Oscab Eats/Shops deliveries. It works alongside our general Terms of Service and Privacy Policy; where this agreement is more specific about driving, it governs. Signing up as a driver or courier in the Oscab Driver app means you accept it.
You drive or make deliveries as an independent partner, not an employee, agent or contractor bound to Oscab's direction over how you work. You choose when to go online, which offers to accept, and your own route. Oscab connects you with riders and customers and processes payment on your behalf; it doesn't set your hours or supervise your driving.
Before you can go online, we need:
Every application is reviewed before approval. If yours isn't approved, we'll tell you why and you're welcome to correct the issue and reapply.
Your licence, roadworthy certificate and insurance must stay current for as long as you drive with us — that is your responsibility, and the law's. What we check automatically is narrower than that, and you should know exactly what it is. We read the expiry date off your licence and your insurance. We text you 30 and 7 days before your licence or your insurance expires. Both are treated the same: once either has expired your account is paused — you can't go online — until you upload a renewed one and it's re-verified. We do not track your roadworthy certificate's expiry date at all, so no reminder will come for it. Driving without current insurance or a current roadworthy certificate is still a breach of this agreement and of Ghanaian law, whether or not our system noticed.
Commission depends on what you drive — and whatever you drive, it will never be higher than 15% of the fare, for as long as Oscab operates:
On a cash trip, the rider or customer pays you directly and in full — Oscab never touches that money. Because Oscab still did the work of matching, routing and processing the trip, its commission on that fare is recorded as an amount you owe, shown in your wallet. It's settled automatically as you complete online (Mobile Money) fares — Oscab's commission on those is simply not paid out to you until the cash debt is cleared — or deducted from your balance before a payout if you have one outstanding.
There is a limit on how much cash commission you can owe. We remind you as the balance grows — the first reminder comes at GH₵90 — and once what you owe reaches GH₵150 you cannot go online again until you bring it down. Paying in from the Pay in via Mobile Money button in the Driver app clears the block within seconds. Nothing else about your account is affected, you keep everything already earned, and a trip you are already on always finishes first.
You save one payout account in the Oscab Driver app — your own Mobile Money number (MTN, Telecel Cash or AT Money) or your own bank account. A bank account is checked with your bank before it's saved, so you'll see the name it's registered to. Every Sunday at 11:00, your whole wallet balance is paid to that account automatically, free, as long as it's at least GH₵30 (smaller balances roll over to the next Sunday) — there is nothing to request. Need money sooner? An instant payout is available any day, from GH₵30 up to GH₵100 per request, for a flat GH₵5 fee deducted from the amount sent — instant requests are reviewed and sent the same day. Oscab staff review every payout, Sunday or instant, before the transfer goes out. If Paystack tells us a transfer failed, the full amount — including any instant fee — goes back to your wallet balance automatically. If instead we get no answer at all from Paystack, we deliberately do not put the money back on our own: we hold the payout for a person to check, because returning it while the transfer may still be in flight could pay you twice. Either way the money stays yours and we chase it; it may just take a little longer.
Processing fees. Paystack charges 1.95% to process a payment, and who carries it depends on how you are paid. When a trip is settled to you directly by Paystack the next working day — your share goes straight to your own account, with nothing to request and no transfer fee — that 1.95% comes out of your share. When a trip is instead paid into your Oscab wallet and sent on to you later, Oscab pays the 1.95% and the transfer fee. It is never taken twice: you are not charged both.
Riders and customers rate every completed trip or delivery. A pattern of low ratings, safety complaints, or a violation of section 7 can lead to a warning, a temporary pause, or removal from the platform. We'll always tell you why. If your documents are in order and the issue is resolved, you can ask to be reactivated.
As an independent partner, you're responsible for your own tax obligations to the Ghana Revenue Authority on what you earn through Oscab. Oscab doesn't withhold tax from your payouts or file on your behalf.
You can stop driving with Oscab at any time — there's no minimum commitment or notice required. Oscab may suspend or end a driver's access for violating this agreement, a safety concern, expired documents that are never renewed, or fraud. Either way, any balance already in your wallet remains yours to withdraw.
We may update this agreement from time to time — for example if a commission rate or the payout minimum changes. We'll notify you in the app before a change takes effect. Continuing to drive after that means you accept the update. Commission is the one exception that cannot move against you: the 15% ceiling in section 4 is permanent, and Okada and Pragia stay at 10%.
