Privacy Policy

Oscab Ride ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it, in line with Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).

Information we collect

• Account details — your name, phone number and (optionally) email when you register.
• Precise location — your device's GPS position while you use the app, to set your pickup point, show nearby drivers and navigate trips. Location is not collected in the background.
• Trip data — pickup and drop-off locations, route, time and fare, so we can provide the service.
• Food & shop orders — items ordered through Oscab Eats and your delivery address, shared with the restaurant or shop fulfilling the order.
• Payment details — your chosen payment method (e.g. mobile money network). We never store full wallet PINs or card numbers.
• Device data — device type, app version and a push-notification token, used to keep the app working well and send trip updates.
• Support messages — reports you send through Help & Support, kept so we can respond and improve the service.
• Driver documents — licence, Ghana Card and vehicle documents, used for verification.

How we use it

• To match riders with drivers and complete trips.
• To calculate fares and process payments.
• To keep the platform safe (driver verification, trip sharing, fraud prevention).
• To provide customer support and improve the service.

Service providers we share with

We share only what each provider needs to do its job:

• Paystack — processes Mobile Money and card payments; receives the amount and your payment identifier.
• Stadia Maps — draws the map and powers place search; receives map coordinates and the place names you search.
• Our routing servers — calculate trip routes from pickup/drop-off coordinates.
• Google Firebase — delivers push notifications; receives a device token.
• Restaurants & shops — receive your name, order and delivery address for orders you place.

What we don't do

• We do not sell your personal data.
• We do not share your data with anyone beyond the providers above, except where the law requires it.
• We keep data only as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations, then delete it.

Your rights

You may request a copy of your data, correction of inaccurate data, or deletion of your account at any time by emailing oscabride@gmail.com.
